Im backkkkk....

Hello everyone, it has been quite some time since i have been writing on this blog. I have been extremely busy with school but i am done for the summer and i am back for your viewing pleasure. It has been an agonizing two months and i just pray that it can get better with this team. I will put up a blog tonight after the game, my first in over a year it feels like.

If the Mets...

Dear Mets,
If you sign Arod, I am no longer using my writing genius to talk about the Mets on this website and i will be boycotting games next season. I will not spend 25 dollars a hot dog or 19 dollars a beer or pay 80 dollars a ticket to sit in my usual loge seats. I really never liked the guy as he was always a 24+1 player. He makes a gazillion dollars and even though some of the things i said on this web site seemed unappropriate at times, I still think he is only for himself and even though he is a great baseball player, He would not be a good fit at Shea this upcoming season for the reasons i already mentioned and also because of David Wright. Granted, David Wright would see a ton of fastballs hitting directly behind Arod and his numbers would improve greatly, but the move to second base is not what i envisioned for a third basemen who every met fan loves and can play the game in a way in which he impacts it daily. Arod is an amazing player but to gain a player who will cost 3 times as much as David and move David to second to only frustrate his efforts at third base as he was getting better and better by seasons end. See the only thing i dont get is Why get someone who is normally hated by Met fans as all i can see is when Arod hit a grand slam against the Mets and said something to LoDuca at home plate and almost started a fight. I just hope if they do decide to spend the 28-35 mill a year that they put some bonus incentives on there such as give him 20 mill extra if the Mets win 2 titles in 4 years or 4 in 8 years give him 40 million extra. But the thing that gets me is moving David to second when his game is improving and also the money which will go into signing arod. Now before i go since i have a ton of work to do, just think of what signing Arod will do the normal folk around the NY Metro area.
Shea Stadium parking -20 dollars a game
Tickets- Field Box -120 dollars, Loge- 80 dollars, Mezz- 55 dollars, Upper-25 dollars.
Having a Arod merchandise table located outside gate C (Part of contract)- 30 a shirt, 200 a jersey, (I would not buy a Arod jersey if it was the last jersey on earth and i needed it to stay warm to stay alive)
Beer - 12 dollars. Pretzels- 6 dollars. Soda- 6 dollars. Nachos- 6 dollars. Hot dog- 7 dollars. Foot long hot dog- 11 dollars. Chicken Fingers- 12 dollars. Subway- 16 dollars.
Foam Finger - 15 dollars. AROD # 1 (typical) foam finger- 20 dollars.
Steiner Sports pricing goes up 40 percent on Mets equipment.
Im not even going to get into sponsorship oppurtunites at shea and other items you can purchase at Shea. I really dont want to sign this guy so dont do it. Just look at my reasons.

I have been through all of the heartbreaks since i was 3 years old ( i was two when they won their last title ). I have been through all of the losing seasons. I have had numerous favirote players, Mackey Sasser ( I liked his name), Todd Hundley ( Greatest catcher of the 90's in my mind), Ho Jo ( I thought the Hotels were his and i always used to ask my dad, Is he there HO JO?), Edgardo Alfonzo, Rico Brogna, Darryl Strawberry ( I have his game used world series celebration jersey from 06 on my wall), Generation K ( no thats a joke), John Franco ( Pre- 2000), Dave Mlicki( How can you forget the first ever game at Yankee Stadium when the Mets beat the Yanks behind Mlickis arm and the hook slide of Todd Hundley, Yes i did the macarena in the last row of Yankee stadium at that game, Rey Ordonez, Tyushoshi Shinjo( How can you not, Orange wristbands and the weird stance, Al Leiter,  Matt Franco,  Robin Ventura, Todd Zeile, Joe Mcewing, Kevin Mcreynolds, Keith Hernandez, Jay Payton,  Bobby Valentine (Mustache, enough said),  Endy Chavez ( the catch),  Chris Woodward ( diehards have to love bums once in a while), Bernard Gilkey, Lance Johnson,  Mike Piazza ( everyone who reads this has my thoughts on Piazza, the greatest offensive player in the history of the Mets), Jason Phillips,  Jose Reyes, Pedro, Beltran at times, Mike Cameron, Doug Mientkiewicz, and even though im missing a bunch, the best player in this generation David Wright (This is Wrightoholics isnt it?). Well those are my reasons, I can look to the past and see that every single player i named has never made more than Arod in a season and anyone all time hasnt but you can use 9 names towards the middle to lower tier and multiply their salaries by each other and see that they are still a ton less than one player. I dont want this team to be determined by 24 + 1 so do the Wright thing.

Please win next year, Im getting old.
John Perrotta,
Wrightoholics

Golf rankings....

  1

To the second annual Mets golf ranking leaderboard after the Mets were eliminated on the last day of the regular season. At Augusta, David Wright is leading (who else) the charge at -7 under heading into the second round, He showed why he is the Mets Mvp on and off the field with a strong performance with 3 birdies, 1 eagle and 2 hole in ones, Yes folks, He can do it all. David was found mumbling to himself on the 8th hole saying, Why does this team have to **** so bad for at the end of the year? If only i can hit Scott Schoeinweiss with my golf club or Mota, Then David took a swing at the passerby who was listening to his conversation and the passerby ran ( Last i checked, It was Mr Met with his hands covering his eyes pretending not to see David talk Negatively about his team). Rightfully so, He should be able to accuse his team (minus a few players) of having no heart, no determination and no will to win. Its like they lost every reason to play this season thinking they were too good or bored with playing baseball. What a joke! Now back to the updated standings, Mr Met was paired with David Wright and finished a strong -4 in the first round. Mrs Met is Mr Mets caddie and it was funny because David was seen hitting on her. WOW!just incase all of you were interested and Mr Mets children are working in the pavillion shining golf balls trying to figure out why their head sizes are so much bigger than average and wondering if theyre was golf ball headed kids out there somewhere. Mr Met played well throughout the first 9 holes of the tourneyment. Rounding out the top ten, Moises Alou is currently in third place overall after getting a nice -3 and he even putts like he bats! With his knees bent all the way almost touching the floor. In fourth place, We have a tie at -2 with Lastings Milledge and John Maine ( Maine was overhead angry because they were paired together and Milledge was driving his dubbed out golf cart while listening to his rap album). In 5th place, we have two paired athletes Oliver Perez and Pedro Martinez. Pedro said he will back out of the next round due to fatigue. Oliver Perez threw a golf club into the lake on a few holes but magically hit 2 hole in ones, Its like his season a ton of ups and downs. In 6th place, Carlos Beltran is at even. He drove his custom Cadillac Escalade with 40 inch rims, He then took his gold plated clubs and continued to have a up and down day and was upset after the round. in 7th place, We have Billy Wagner whose Caddie is his Mule at his farm. Wagner shot a +2, cursing each hole until the end and just wanted to drink in the locker room and go home to his ranch. In 8th place, We have another tie between Endy Chavez and Shawn Green. Both are at +4. In 9th place, we have Aaron heilman. 10th place goes to Mike Pelfrey at +7. 11th place goes to Willie Randolph who was mumbling at himself throughout the round for some questionable choices of clubs, Hmmm just like his managerial skills this season +19.12th place goes to Jose Reyes at a +22. Jose was seen walking slowly to all of the holes and recieved a 10 stroke penalty for not arriving at the time he was supposed to arrive and start. Word is he was drunk or just didnt care or hustle to get there. 13th place goes to Tom Glavine who finished at +49999. Glavine was complaining about obting out of his contract and recieving 3 million. He said he deserved more from the Mets with all of his dazzling perfomances throughout the years here. Glavine shot a plus almost 50000, I dont know if that is physical possible in the game of golf, But i cant remember a person starting and finishing as worse as Glavine did with a team who paid him handsomly. You know what the Mets should do? Take back the Jet skis, Car and plaque they gave him when he got to 300. You know i was at that game sitting in my seat and did not stand once because i know he is not a met, He never was and he showed his true colors in the beginning of his career with them and showed his true brave colors at the end of his career with the Mets. I really hope he doesnt come back because i wont watch while he pitches. Yea, he had a few good games with the Mets but if your paying that much , you need him to step up at the end of the season when you need him the most. Glavine, go back to your 30 million dollar home and leave us mets forever. I hate the way you can say its not devastating to lose the way the mets did and how he will get over it! Yeah Glavine, you will get over it and go back to your mansions but we as fans wont and i will never forget the way you flaked out on us and i will be telling my grandkids about the story of Tom Glavine, 300 game winner and loser of one the biggest games in Mets history and he anchored a Mets collapse.

   Updated standings.

1-David Wright -7

2-Mr Met- 4

3- Moises Alou -3

4th (tie) John Maine + Lastings Milledge -2

5th (tie) Pedro Martinez + Oliver Perez

Horrible, Just horrible...

Willie Staying? More thoughts tomorrow.

Dugout dances, Hi five dances...All this for nothing?

     5e6914128fe94154a21515f81420e1ca

The list can go on and on for miles but in my mind, The Mets should have maybe focused on batting practice and defensive drills and not practice dance moves and new hi five celebrations after they hit home runs. Its all of the little things that added up, Not just todays miserable 8-1 loss the last place Marlins, It was a ton of things just compiled up into one horrible month. I will get into todays game a little later but if you look at the past month or so, We can start off with the culprit in my mind who contributed to some of the Mets losses in Sept. Jose Reyes. Jose, ah what can i say about you? I love you as a player, your energy is second to none but in September the only thing you did good was fly out and not effectively get on base and not running out ground balls and also at times playing the defense that we all know jose never plays, Was he throwing games? Was he mad about all the MVP talk that David Wright took from him during the season? Who knows but i know one thing, I was one of the people in the stands booing him like crazy and it will continue until he matures and shows me that he can be one of the leaders on this team . I didnt mind the celebrations until this past weekend, Its like he took more time dancing in the dugout than focusing and trying to do the little things to win. I am very angry at Reyes's play over the past month.

Now i will get to reason number two why the mets lost, Willie Randolphs managerial skills throughout the past month. Willie, I never in my life thought you were a great fit for the mets and frankly now, I dont even more. So what he brought the team back to its winning ways over the past, He never blistered me with great moves out of the dugout and if you look at the roster over the past 3 seasons, It was sometimes filled with greatness and if you look at other managers around the league who have to feed with much less than Willie has at his disposal, They do a much better job managing the game. I dont blame willie much for some things but i do blame him for the past month and every press conference quoted saying, " We are still in first place, So i dont know what to say". Yeah Willie, we were in first place for those days and given a 7 game lead with 17 left, we should have still been there popping champagne corks like the phillies are doing now but instead im here left laughing about what decisions the Mets will have to make next season and how they can try to fix this mess. Getting back to what Willie said, How can you say that we are sitll in first place every **** day in and out. We lost a ton of games to 2 teams who were in last place for most of the season and it was just like he gave the team a sense of its okay that we are losing but we are always going to be in first place. NO WILLIE, WE LOST, YOU BLEW IT. I wish one of the players would stand up since the chemistry is obviously out of whack the past few weeks and say that the team needed a jumpstart and willie did not once throw at a batter or once get thrown out of a game. I just wish the Mets still had BOBBY VALENTINE, He was my fav mets manager of all time and looking back to the days with Bobby, the days which he walked around and came back in wearing a fake mustache after being ejected just makes me wish we still had him around to coach this team, A team with much better players assembled and a chance at winning again.

My third reason will go to.. drumroll please, the mets bullpen. Their bullpen has been horrid. Plain and simple, overused isnt even the word i can use anymore. The staring pitching is part of the problem in why the bullpen was overused and Willie in my mind also was another reason in why the bullpen was overused. He did not know how to manage a game and too many times, Pitchers were taken out after 1 pitch to a batter or even a 1 batter situational appearence. I dont get why too many times the manager never gets blamed for mistakes but this one obviously was Willies and mainly the lack of Starting Pitching that led to the demise of the bullpen and their inflated ERA in September.

David Wright had a tremendous season and would have been voted MVP if the Mets didnt collapse and the Phils didnt make it. Now the honor will most likely go to Jimmy Rollins or Matt Holliday depending on the outcome of the Rockies-Pads game tomorrow. Davids season ended abruptly today and i just wish he could have carried them on his back like he did all season long. He has a horrible April but was amazing from May 1- Sept 30th. I find it hard to believe that with all of the disappoint, We can even find something positive about this team. David was that positive note and he will mostl ikely try to improve on his impressive season next season. Tonight after the game, David did not seem very happy and i have never seen David more visablly upset than after Fridays game and after todays game. He was the one with all or most of the heart on this team. He was the one who pushed this team to succeed on most nights in the ballpark. All i know is that after batting 324 with 30 home runs and a 107 rbis, He is the cornerstone of this team and not Jose Reyes as many people who emailed me tryed explaining why. Wright every game came to the park, took extra bp, signed autographs and also took excessive fielding. Reyes on the otherhand was clowining around in the dugout, laughing with other competition or just not being focused. I dont care if they won if he joked around but as for being at the game, Reyes was not out early in BP and also did not take extra practice. I just dont blame JOse as i still think hes an amazing player, He needs to mature more as was the case with David after last playoffs in which he didnt do so good. In my mind, after Wright was getting all of the MVP attention, Reyes did not like that and started pressing to try to get more Jose chants at Shea.

The players that need to be gone in my book are...Paul Loduca- Paul was one of my favirote mets over the seasons he was here but he just doesnt seem to have it anymore with hitting. He has wore down in the second half and also been banged up more often than not. I think the Mets should save the money and platoon Castro with whoever the backup may be. Im just counting down the years until Francisco Pena is the catcher at Citi Field but which is still years away since he is only 17 years old now.

Second player in which should be gone is...Tom Glavine. Tom Glavine is too old in my book and showed his wear and tear in his last two starts of the season for the mets. I hope he takes his player option and goes to Atlanta where we can beat him around for all of the miserable feelings the Mets fans are going through tonight and for the next 6 months or so. Glavine had a decent time with the mets since he came over from ATL but as i remember the paper saying back then, The Mets dont need Tom Glavine, The Mets need divine intervention on the post. They didnt need him then and i still dont think they need him now, More than ever after the beat down he was given today by a Marlins team who was in last place all season or most of it. I really dislike Tom Glavine and i dislike the way he let us all down today.

Third player gone....Shawn Green. I dont have much to say about Shawn Green but all i know is that last season in game 7, He had a chance to give the Mets a lead in the bottom of the 6th and flyed out to right.  I still am angry about that and the one who bookened that inning , Jose Valentine should not be on the team next season as well. Green was a player who the mets maybe could have relied on 8 years ago but not now. they need to go in a different direction in Right Field and if they dont trade Milledge, Milledge should be the guy there with Endy backing him up along with Gomez as the other back up OF.

Fourth player gone on this roster would have to go to....Delgado. Delgado did not fare well in this season with the Mets. I wish they could somehow trade him and get a good first base men in a trade. Delgado is in the decline of his career and after suffering yet another hand injury, Will only get worse at this point. I loved Delgado for the longest time with his tenure with the Mets but as of now, He just does not seem to be locked in or for that matter all season minus a few at bats. a 256 avg with 24 hr's his season was very disappointing.

Now as of the 4, I can go for another 14 players in who i want gone but most of them on under contract. Delgado is the only ommision from that group who is still under contract but i can only hope they get rid of him or maybe keep him and hopefully have him hit like he used to. But judging from decline years, he is headed for yet another one and i hope i am wrong. Fact is theyre is plenty of mets i want to see gone from this team but it will never happen. What the Mets gm Mr Minaya can do is look to improve this team and hopefully get back a few healthy bullpen parts ( Sanchez and Padilla) and fix this team to get them back into title consideration.

My next point is that Shea stadium has one more year left in existence and i can only hope that next year has a ton more thrills than this season has had. It was a rough season and based on the one remaining season at the greatest ballpark on earth, I just wish we can make some noise and close out the stadium with a bang, Hopefully a world series ring that i was praying for this season. You know, It sort of still feels like im in a dream world right now as i still dont like to believe that the Mets are not in the playoffs and have a big E next to their name in the standings which stands for Eliminated. This season had some moments but more bad than good in my book and this last month has been forever etched in my memory and i know in 40 years, I will be telling my grandkids about the season that was in 2007 and what could have been with this group of players. And as the slogan read your season has come all over Shea, It seems like it was gone Just like that.

DIG DOWN, DIG DOWN DEEP...

   0e420adf2edb435f8f9a5aa639136834

Alright Mets, Give me one more reason not to jump off a bridge in the next 3 days. This has been the worst month of my baseball life as noted before in numerous posts. Everything was fine and okay with being a Mets fan until the last month, As most of the "Mets" Fans as i like to call them are no where to be found. Is this what they call bandwagoners? Absolutely yes, The real met fan can boo their team when disappointed but the real met fan should wear their colors even when they lose and never downgrade their chances of winning to none. Over the past few days, I have been in contact with mets fans who say they stink and will never go anywhere in the playoffs but as happened last season with the Cardinals who everyone wrote off can happen with the Mets if they make the playoffs. The Mets fans need to be with their team, through thick and think as this has come down to 3 games for their playoff hopes and not having us fans to suffer through a long winter with plenty doubts and plenty questions about what could have been! My aspirations for the begining of the season was World Series or bust! Now i just pray they make the playoffs. Back to the Bandwagoners, I find it funny not to see many mets jerseys worn around NY or even talking baseball while wearing my jersey. Its like everyone scrapes the decals off and throws the shirts in the attic but in my mind, That should never happen. Even when the mets stunk up most of the 90's, I still had a jersey on and watched my team regardless of the abuse i take from fans across baseball. Its just that you can beat a dead horse but the fans need to be behind them totally and be at the game, Not just when your team wins, Come back and be wow im a mets fan and they are the best. Please fans come out this weekend and show your support, If you cant afford tickets, put a flag out, You cant buy a flag? Get 2 eggs and paint them blue, orange and lay them outside and show your support.

Lets go Mets and once again you gotta believe!

Why? Why? Why?

Someone pinch me because i dont know if im still in a dream or is this reality. I am praying one day ill get up and the Mets will still be 7 games ahead and cruising towards another NL East title for the second straight season. I really am in need of a mets victory because if they dont win the NL East or make the wild card, I will not be happy along with the other crazed Mets fans in the world. This has been the utter worst month of my baseball years and if it ends as we all think, Then it will cap the worst season as a mets fan. I dont care about all of the losing seasons in the 90's now, I care about this season and our thoughts coming into it about a World Series run as last years season ended on such a bad note. When you look at the way these weeks are ending, I feel like im in a downward spiral and this team usually takes up all my time watching and day dreaming to the day when the Mets finally win a world series, One in which i can fully participate in.

As the years went on, I was able to fully establish myself as a crazy Mets fan, Watching all the games, Going to most and owning every jersey (One for each day of the week and even more) but looking at the way this season has gone down the tubes in the past month, I feel like they are dragging me with them. Each day im walking around, my head is slumped and each Yankee fan i see abuses me for hours and it hurts deep down inside but i usually dont let them see it. Even when im doing my clinical rotations at the hospital, I am analyzing patients and taking vital signs and i feel as if it should be the other way around as my vitals are the ones that are dropping and causing me to almost faint after watching this team on a daily basis. I am needed of a vacation and tomorrow i will be at the game supporting my team. After the game win or lose, Im travleing to my house in Pennsylvania and if the mets win or lose, I will not know. I wont turn on the television and wont worry about who won or lost. Even though ill most likely find out somehow, I will still be with this team regardless of the outcome, I am just hurt at the way they are playing at the end of it all. Please Mets, Give me one more comeback and win the NL East again. One more time. Thats all. One more series left. Win all 3 and the Phils need to lose 1 game and we win the NL East.

And for one more picture with my thoughts for tonights loss against the Cards. Look into the sky David for devine intervention for the team Please!
