Mets sweep the Marlins….

  Haaaa_1_4

The Mets took apart the Marlins from their head to their Fins. Yesterday and through the previous weekend, The mets are playing much better even if they lost 2 of 3 to the Bravos (Who are falling back and the mets are pushing their lead back up to where it should be ) and pounced on the Marlins to take all 3 games from them. The games were close but thats what a good team does when the games get close, they pull away and leave no doubt in the other teams mind when the next time that they face them that they are the best team in the National League and one of the best teams in Baseball period. Just looking at the mets after they lose a series and the way they have the passion to fight and crawl back and win a series so easily is the best thing to watch as a passionate mets fan such as myself.

The Mets are looking towards a series with the Giants and Barry ( Someone find me another steroid) Bonds. Carlos Delgado will look to keep up the great pace with Home Runs and singles and his great swing now. I was watching the last few games and his balance is back and maybe he can keep that balance throughout the duration of the month. David will look to get back on the hitting track again as he picked up a Rbi during yesterdays game and i pray he can maybe go 9-9 to bring his average over 300 so i wont look like a fool since i promised he would be above 300, Maybe i can make it till June then lol as i hope he will be over 300 soon though.

I am going to Shea tomorrow night to meet Mr Met, Rusty Staub and Mookie Wilson compliments of Bob Malandro from Steiner Sports in the luxury suite down the 3rd base line near the foul pole. Big thanks to Bob from Steiner Sports and more information about where to get your Mets Memorbailia from and i will post that tomorrow night hopefully ( I have school at 7 on Wednesday so i might post Wed night instead) and post pictures from the event and all. The only picture im missing from my great collection is a picture with Mr Met. I always felt afraid to when i was little but hopefully i have outgrown my fear of 6 foot 10 guys with a  baseball head.

I am getting tired of yet hearing all of the Yankee fans who are complaining about the injuries to their team which is forcing them to be almost in last place. The mets have injuries as well, look at their lineup. 3 of 8 hitters are out due to injury and 2 have missed substantial amounts of time ( Green, Alou, Valentin). 2 of the 5 starters are injured ( El Duque ( Who came back but i guareentee he will be injured again before seasons end), Pedro ( Who is their ace and out until August). Also, injuries to the bullpen ( Sanchez, Mota (Suspension), Padilla). So i dont want to hear about injuries. Every team has injuries around MLB, Its the way your team pulls together and finds ways to win is what gets you by and judging by the way the Yankees are built, they are suseptible to any kind of good pitching and their rotation is in shambles. Also, the way the team bounces back from adversidy is key too. The mets needed people to step up and they have been all season long as evidenced by their 32-17 record. The Yankees on the otherhand have not and their record shows it 21-27. So please Yankee fans, No more 26 world series title talks because you can simply live in the past but we have the future and he does not go by the name of Tyler Clippard (Who got lucky might i add against the mets).

David will look to go 9-9 tomorrow to prove me correct about him getting to 300.

SEEEE YAAAAA….DAVIIIIID WRIGHHT

Look at the prediction…. From last post.

David hit the ball well to all fields but directly at someone, something i think will change rather quickly over the series. Remember, i predicted him to be batting over 300 by the end of the month of May and i think he will reach it. He made a sparkling play at third base yesterday and is continuing to show why he is one of the best young players in the game.  Today, David will hit 2 home runs and continue to mash the opposition specifically the second fiddle yankees. Team of New York…

         Fortune20cookieyoure20fired20message

Let me explain the picture. Joe torre better get used to this because after the Mets sweep the Yankees out of shea, He will be (Picture inserted). Looks like theyre is a new team in NY, Well not a new team but i guess a new king of New York. Its the New York Mets. They clearly are superior in many categories all the way from hitting to pitching and defense and it clearly showed yesterday. The mets started off with a early 1-0 lead and even in my seats with a bunch of yankee fans around ( Very obnoxious to say the least) cheering for their second place 9 and a half game out team ( Before the loss last night and the soon to be loss today) it made me remember what it was like to be second fiddle for a change. I was at the first ever subway series game sitting in the last row of the upper deck when the Mets first battled the yankees in Yankee stadium with my Brother. I even remember doing the macarena in the 6th inning. Dave Mlicki pitched great that game and it was my favirote player Todd Hundley with the hook slide to give the mets the victory. Times have changed over the years and world series titles for the Yankees are just a afterthought for us met fans. The Yankees have changed and even with their 200+ million dollar payroll, their age is truly showing. They have no pitching what so ever behind Pettite ( Who is a few starts away from possibly injuring himself like he does some seasons) and Mussina ( who is showing his age).  I am not even going to put in Chien BING DANG ( Because in my mind, he is not a great pitcher). The mets starting staff is better, Their hitting is better, relief pitching and defense. The yankees are a former shell of themselves and after this weekends sweep and bostons sweep of the yankees on the upcoming week, Torre will be gone and the Yankees will be 16 games out of first. Imagine that. Ah good times to be a mets fan even if most of the "new" met fans who i see suddently wearing mets jerseys and caps are bandwagoners.

Last night, I saw a ton of yankee fans who actually left before the end of the game. I thought to myself, wow it seems like you have a lot of faith in your team. But when your team is languishing 10 games behind the Sox and having a ton of problems with every aspect of their team. I really had an amazing time last night in the loge level of Shea. Just to see all the fans from both teams go at it throughout the night and even better to watch the Mets win the game is great. The Yankee fans who are yes, obnoxious as well know were cursing and drinking all night possibly to try and protect theyre sorrows of being a team who is so far behind so early in the season. I even saw a fight break out between two yankee fans lol. It was overall just a good night to be a met fan.

Grand Theft Wrighto..

       Aece95d23d0642ccb4ad8a7149a01f12

David Wright used a 5 finger discount throughout the afternoon at Shea Stadium by swiping second base and then swiping third base a few innings later and then even swiping a third base( First time in his career)  at Shea. Is it me or did Jose Reyes and Wright switch bodies for a day? I really cant tell only with their skin colors but with their feet, It seems Wright is moving quick. The mets are playing well as of now and i just want them to keep it up throughout next weekend when the hated cross-town rivals come to town. I will be at the game on Friday and i really hope the Mets pound the Yankees since everyone who reads my post’s know how much i hate them. I really think the mets will beat the Yanks rather easily next weekend as the Mets are playing better as of late even with the recent rash of injuries that have overcame some of their outfielders/pitchers over time. The brewers came into town with huge momentum as being the best team in the NL but they leave losing 2 of 3 to the favirote in the NL this season and that is the mets. The mets played them very well but i have to give credit to the brewers who also played well in their brief stay in Flushing. The Brewers might be a team to reckon with but i would like to see what they do and if they fold under the pressure of first place throughout the season (That is, if they dont build a 06 Mets type lead).

What can i say about Oliver Perez? He is like two face from Batman. Some days, Hes lights out and then some days he is not very good at all. Today he pitched brilliant against the team who has the most home runs in the national league. He pitched like he should every game for us met fans. I just consistently hope we can get this production for 3/4th of his starts of the year and it would be magical. I love his demeanor on the mound as he is so wired out there and it reminds me of Turk Wendell. I love when he hops the chalk line.

Carlos X 3 was called up from New Orleans this afternoon and made a nice diving catch in RF and also had a double and recorded his first major league steal in the 8th soon before Perezs hit down the left field line. He will stay up for a little while and then when Moises is ready, He will get sent down to AAA for some more work. I really just pray that he will be the prospect they are touting him to be. As for the other Carloses, Viva la Puerto Rico Carlos Delgado sat out today and Viva La Puerto RIco Carlos Beltran was in the lineup. I really hope they play Gomez more so i come up with a nickname for him and we can have Carlos Cubed. Wow i like that one since they all have shaved heads.

David played well again today and is finally starting to come around and hopefully they can continue to have their shaved heads look because it seems as if they are even a tighter group then they were before. Maybe this shaved head thing wasnt such a terrible idea (Even if they all look like horrible). David picked up a Double, Single 3 SB’S and a 1 walk today. His Average is up to 264 and i predict he will be at 320 by the end of May. I can guareentee you that. His new video game comes out next week for the Playstation 3 and i cannot wait to have it in my hands just so i can hit walk off singles with David Wright (I wont say home runs because we know that he will break out of the homer slump soon).

Davids event is coming up on Thursday so for those of you who can make it out, I might be in attendance. Just please go everyone, Its a great cause and all proceeds will go to the DW Foundation.

Mets Win…

0fe4d36c6457433ab4198540b12e321b_1

This afternoons Mets game was one that was amazing. The Mets battled back yet again to come back in this early season. Note- I am not liking the shaved head look that they have, It looks like they are in a cult. I hope that they can continue their play this long homestand against 3 great teams(Brewers,Cubs,Yankees) and i really want them to go undefeated but its really tough against that group of teams. The Mets need to do well in the upcoming games at the teams in their division are starting to play well and the mets need to keep up the pace so they dont fall too far behind.

Back to todays game. The mets went up 2-0 and then went down 3-2 and then battled back to tie it until the 9th when the mets loaded the bases and Mr Wright came up to the plate and plated 2 with a double down the left field line, A rocket i might add against Armando ( you ruined my life) Benitez. Armando was at times a dominant closer in shea but at times became the most hated man in the better side of town. He blew so many big games and i remember when the mets were chasing the braves i believe in 2002 and he blew a game which would have brought the mets behind to 2 games in the standings.I just hate him for how bad of a closer he was with the mets and i want to see him fail every game that he pitches. So David slapped the double down the line and gave the mets the lead in which Billy (Game Over) Wagner came in and nailed down his save for the mets and gave the mets a series win and their second straight series win.

As for tomorrow, the mets are off with their plane ride back to Flushing, Queens. I really hope they dont pull a 1986 mets and reck the plane and their hotel rooms because they are now outcasts with their newly shaved heads. I loved Gary Cohen’s call today in the game while looking at 4 mets from their backs, He said, " You can have 4 pool cue balls with that group", Refering to their heads. It was good times and i actually like watching the game, It sure as **** beats Tim Mccarver from the mid 90′s and listening to him blabber about being a great 214 hitter and great signal caller. on a side note, I am wondering how many mets players have sun burn on their heads.

I am looking forward to Fridays meeting with the Nl’s best record holding Milwaukee Brewers. The Brewers come in with a great record 24-10 and hopefully the mets will put a dent in that by weekends end. I am not looking forward to seeing Jeff Suppan on Friday night as he still comes in with bad memories of me crying my eyes out in the postseason as the mets…Yeah you know.  So mets, put a whipping on him and make me try and forget about what happened last October.

The David Watch is updated after his 2 rbi double in the 9th today.

New Look…Same Team..

    Davidrain

Well apparently, Some of the members of the mets shaved their head’s tonight. It looks good and i like this cult grouping thing. I am making a bold statement since i am going to watch the game. If David has 4 hits or hits a home run, I am going to shave my head and donate the hair to a cancer research center. I really hope he does it because i cant deal with the daily hair gels and sprays. So go David and help out another great cause.

UPDATE- 1-1, 1 RBI, DOUBLE. 3 Hits to go David.

My Birthday…

   Wright_2

Today is my 23rd birthday, Yes 23. I am getting old. I realized a few things, Its time for the mets to win in my lifetime (Well last title was when i was 2 so its time to win one that i can actually enjoy).  Second, I want this picture that i am going to post here to be my death picture, Sort of my obituary picture. A picture in which was taken by Frankie ( The Tiger Woods Machine) Carpenito. This picture i want people to see me looking in the light when i decide to pass hopefully 80 years down the line and 79 more world series wins for the mets. I really do hope that they win shortly so i can put all of these nerves to rest with great ups and downs over the past years. Todays 23rd birthday taught me a few things and now i realized that i am getting older and older by the minute and i even have a wrinkle now, Yikes. Not really but if you think about it 7 years until im 30. 30! Well a early happy birthday to my older Brother Thomas who turns 30 on Wednesday, Man hes old. Hes like 6 years older than his hero David Wright. No,His hero is Derek Jeter but he likes to be a phony and wear Wrightoholics T Shirts around the Shea Stadium area.

The Mets lost today 3-1 and it snapped a 12 game win streak in Chase Field in Arizona and now will look to continue a great road trip in San Francisco before heading into a early but posssible playoff showdown with the Brew Crew on the weekend. I know this a short entry and David did crappy yet again but i can assure you he will snap out of it. Hes too good not to. I will leave everyone with the picture i want in my obituary as being the best picture that was ever taken at a sporting event of me. Once again big shout out to Mr Tiger Woods, Frankie Carpenito (The Carpenter).

Cinco De Wrighto?

    Bansombra1

Hola, Today is Cinco De Wrighto, the day in which David Wright will come out and bash some shots all over the baseball field even though he will do it against a great pitcher in Brandon (Whats today again) Webb. Brandon Webb is a great pitcher who dominates games on a weekly basis with his dominating pitching and will look to stop the 14 game win streak that the Mets have against the little snakes in chase field in Arizona. Can someone tell Brandon that today is Cinco De Wrighto? Yes its Cinco De Wrighto. David will look to mash the ball all over the field as i stated before and prove that this holiday is here to last. Besides look at it this way. Cinco -5 and whats Davids Number? 5. Coincedence? I think not, Look at what David will do tonight. 5-5? Coincedence? I think not. In the next 4 years how many all star games will David be in by then? 5-Coincedence? I think not. So in 4 years we can come back to this post ( Hopefully on a real web site) and laugh about my comments but also see how true they have become. David will be a force in the league and a force on my fantasy baseball teams worldwide. He will be a household name like Peanut butter is. So when you think of Cinco De Mayo, Think of David and Cinco De Wrighto and what he will do on and off the field. Now since this is Wrightoholics and i have fans all over the world, I will also post this in Spanish as well just so my Puerto Rican friends across the world can read this in their language and mine too as i speak it quite fluently. I hope when i meet Jose Reyes that i can ask him about if he likes to Dance or if he likes to rap because i have heard his rapping and it needs to stop right now. I want to see David try to rap cause i think he will be like Eminem, Maybe even better! JK, Stick to your weekly job David but tonight i will now proclaim it is Cinco De Wrighto! So when you look around and see people celebrating Cinco De Mayo, Just please give David some love and represent Cinco De Wrighto.

The David Watch will be updated after yesterdays disappointing performance.

Now in Spanish.

Yes the site has now changed. It is now called EasleyOholics, The first and only fan club of Damion Easley. This is a one day affair as Damion Easley came through huge against the Dbacks tonight by hitting a 3 run bomb in the top of the 9th, His second game winning or game tying home run of the season. He has filled in quite admirably for Jose Valentin and maybe can be this years renisance player compared to Jose Valentins comeback year last season. The way he crushed that ball tonight off a junkball closer in my opinion gave me hope that the mets can start a west coast road trip and end it like they did last season by going 9-1. I know this is a shorter trip but and as i speak David just crushes his second home run to opposite field and now the site is changed back to Wrightoholics again, Sorry Damion but i had to re change it even though you saved the game, David hit another homer and as i can proclaim now, Chicks dig the long ball and they also dig game winning home runs by Easley. So David snapped back out of his slump tonight ( A short 0-4 one) with a 2 run homer and the Mets offense which seemingly was dead tonight ( Other than VIVA LA PUERTO RICO CARLOS BELTRAN), woke up in the 9th with an explosion as it seemed everyone was reaching base. I mean as you can see hte Mets have outscored the DBACKS 93-24 Since 2004. 93-24, Talk about slapping a team around.  I will move on now to VIVA LA PUERTO RICO CARLOS BELTRAN AND HIS MAMMOTH HOME RUN.

Beltran, What can i say, I apologize for not taking you in some of my fantasy baseball leagues but this is called Wrightoholics and i had to take David First in every league because he is the best third basemen in NY no matter how many home run’s Arod has. Beltran crushed a home run to Nevada tonight as that was a shot and a half, It felt like it hit my house 3000 miles away. That ball traveled an estimated 442 feet, though It looked like about 890 feet from my point of view. Beltran has been totally mashing the ball and he is in line for yet another All star game. Now i will start my push to vote for all the mets to the all star game this season, Hopefully as everyone says David wont participate in the " home Run Derby curse" which is a total joke as i explained 4 posts ago. This season i hope to push about 17 mets to the all star game, Yeah i said it 17. I even want Rick Down there and Rick Peterson just so i can see the mullet and the crazy hitting coach who looks like my 7th grade gym teacher from years back.

The David watch is updated tonight and it is back just like he is. Tonight he finished the game strong going 1-1 with a 3 run home run. Tomorrow, he will go for a home run in consecutive games .
