David smacks two run homer to Wright field…….

   0fe4d36c6457433ab4198540b12e321b_2

Ah, how good it feels to be on the winning side of things for once over the past week and i feel so bad for the Yankees the past week or so, How amazing is it that i havent seen a Yankee jersey yet again! Its like they go into hibernation when they lose and they only come out when they are winning. In the process of the past week i have observed numerous things, nothing more telling than these 3. 1- I have seen 499 yankee decals get put on the back of cars, removed, added again, removed and then burned. 2- Havent seen a Yankee hat in 2 weeks literally. 3- Where has the Yankees magic gone that so many of you were telling me about through clogging up my email box all week when the Mets lost 9 of 10 and the Yankees were unstoppable as so many of you had claimed. I just find it so wonderful to see the Yankee fans crying themselves to sleep and writing letters to George Steinbrenner telling him, "If your team doesnt make the playoffs, Im commiting suicide", I know that might not be what the exact words were but i can guareentee you it is some of their thoughts. Just to look at the past week that the Mets have had has diminished everything good that the Yankees have done. The Yankees have lost to Colorado, San Fran, Baltimore the past week while when the Mets have played the toughest schedule in Major League history, they did not do so well. So i guess both things are in the past and one can say that right now, the only team making the playoffs in NY, Is the mets. So please Yankee fans, dont clog up my email with rambustious comments about how my team quote on quote *****, how the mets will never win another division, blah blah blah, the list goes on and on. Do me a favor, head down to the local supermarkets and buy yourself a clue, the mets are the better team and im tired of your nonsense talk.

David slapped a two run homer to Wright field and it now looks as if he might reach 300 before the AS break. I just want him to continue this hot hitting for me and my fantasy teams as i really cant take this losing anymore, I am now 5-7 and i need some help to get to the playoffs. Its not technically Davids fault but i was expecting 200 home runs this season and 900 rbi’s. Its like my team went dancing and had chicken sushi at the same time, you know the nausea feeling all over.Tonight the mets will go for another victory and a series victory over the Cardinals.

Dangers of drugs…

Before i open up about last nights victory, I just wanted to let everyone know that we have opened up a new store, You can simply reach it by scrolling down and looking the left underneath the poll or just copy and paste this http://www.printfection.com/Wrightoholics. I already have ordered the apron.

The mets sure didnt make it look easy last night winning by a short margin 2-1, But winning is all that counts and they did that. Getting outhit, outplayed is usually something you dont want to do on a regular basis but the Mets showed that with great defense, great timely pitching and great clutch 11th inning hitting, they can beat teams without the bats working too hard. Shawn Green’s beautiful homer last night showed me that he can still swing the bat on some nights and i dont think the Mets should make a trade due to the way they can pull out most games. I know he didnt exactly rip it up in game 7 of the NLCS ( Leaving runners stranded when he could have gave the mets the lead), they still can play well enough to hold off the teams in their division.

This week will be a tough week for the Mets, possibly going without their catcher for 2 games vs the Phils, although he has said publicly that he does not want to miss those games. I say he should miss the next two games and head into Phili and help the mets widen their lead in the standings. So you need to focus on this week and push this team past the Phils and Braves and try to open up a sizeable lead, something like the Sox have over the Yankees. That would be a perfect world. The mets will look to finish off a strong homestand with their next 3 games against the Cards. i really hope they sweep them so i can try and forget about the losses over the past 7 months or so. I really have had a tough time still sleeping.

David and willie got into a little argument last night but i dont think it was something that people have said it was. It was a chat in which i know they were speaking.

David :You see that car out there? I just bought it with my 20 million dollars from vitamin water!

Willie: No way, that one!

David: Oh yeah man, it has heated seats, it even has a robot that drives for you

Willie : Wow, does it have a sun roof?

David : Oh yeah, it also has a jacuzzi in the backseat!

Willie: Wow, your living in style but dont spend all that money in one place!

David: Willie, dont tell me how to spend my money.

Willie: I just dont want you to be like the 1986 mets, buying cocaine and trashing hotel rooms

David: Im not Darryl Strawberry or Dwight Gooden, Ill be fine, ill a mild mannered boy from Virginia.

Willie: Okay, Look up there, Keith is pointing to you.

David: Oh no, what does he want (David turns and looks)

(Keith Hernandez points his tootsie pop at him)

Willie: Thats what your going to end up like if you were on the 86 team.

David: This is a new team, the team , the time, the mets! No that was last year, But, ill be fine and i wont buy cocaine or fill my tootsie roll pop with drugs.

Willie: Okay now go sit down.

See, that was what they were having a little argument about, No big deal. Just the dangers of drugs and the harm they can do to your body.

The mets will look to take game 2 vs the Cards tonight and will look to add to their 4 game winning streak. David will look to continue his hitting and will try and reach 300.

Mets Cards…

    CLICK PHOTO FOR GREAT CLIP

Mets swept the A’s this past weekend and move on to the most hated team of the past baseball season in the minds of Met fans, The St Louis Cardinals. I still have nightmares of game 7 last playoffs and every time i think about it, I want to ram my head against the wall. Yadier Molina is the new Bucky Dent and Endy Chavez’s catch was overshadowed by the loss and the inevitible world series champion Stl Cardinals. The Cardinals come in to the 4 game series tonight with a 33-38 record and the Mets playing well as of late and will look to continue that against Mike Maroth, who was recently traded from the Tigers to the Cards. I cant even remember the loss anymore as it has been in my dreams the past months. It will never end as that night and that game will be etched in my memory forever. I cant even remember what has happened to me yesterday but i can remember the ball ever so slightly grasping its way across the left field fence and then him running around the bases pumping his fists everywhere. But this is the team, the time, the mets right? Or was that last years slogan, Whatever the slogan may be, The mets need to keep this great play up and granted it was against the next to last worst hitting team in the AL. The Cardinals are the equivelent to the A’s except instead of Eric Chavez, they have Albert Pujols. The mets need to jump on the Cards often and early and look to knock the starter out and move towards the sloppy bullpen of the cards.

I dont have much else to say because i am still angry over now thinking of game 7. David Wright will look to continue his assault to 300 before the all star break and i predict three hits tonight. My predictions are usually off, so dont go betting the farm based on my bias opinion.

Winning feels great!

Cpopmtlo_5

I want to know what the A’s were thinking last night when David came up in the bottom of the 9th last night by intentionally walking Carlos Beltran to elect to pitch to David Wright, Now i know Beltran has been playing a tiny bit better of late but David has been on fire and he has been a clutch hitter most of his career. It was a brainless move in my mind because even with a possible douple play oppurtunity,It still doesnt justify why you have to pitch to one of the hottest hitters in the league with one of the coldest hitters in front of him ( before Wed game).

The mets have been playing better the past 2 games and i can just hope they can continue it into the series in the upcoming weeks, especially against the Phils and Cards because those are my 2 most hated teams in the NL and i just want the mets to beat them senseless this week and just finish off this bad month on a positive note.

Last nights game was played well by both teams and mainly the pitching was top notch. If your going to be one of the top teams in baseball, You must win those 1-0 games and those games in which the outcome is unpredictable. When you look at the teams the mets have faced the past few weeks, they have been losing games by a much worse margin. I know the A’s are next to last in runs in the AL, but the mets can possibly bring this momentum into the next series and prove that they are the team to contend with in the NL. Remember what i said in the last post? This is the team i grew up with and the team i watched all my life. I really need a world series title soon or else im going to jump off a bridge as noted a post ago. This is the team all mets fans cant do anything else but watch through the good times and the bad and it makes me wonder why we stick with them through all of that, My answer is simple, because we are passionate fans. Some fans ( Other side of town) dont really follow the team and will jump ship as soon as they jumped on the bandwagon. It reminds me of the time when i started a conversation with a yankee fan and i asked them simply to name 5 yankees on the 1993 yankee team. I know thats about 14 years ago but i can name 10 from the mets team. I know most yankee fans are as passionate as Mets fans but some are just plain clueless.

Today, the mets will go for the sweep with John (CY YOUNG) Maine heading the hill against Joe Kennedy. I wonder how David will do today after ending last night on such a positive note.

Am i living a bad dream? Is this what is feels like to be a Nationals fan?

      0cd12027c63a4a038a9e5b30824bd755_8

After looking at the heading, You can almost read my thoughts over the past few weeks. But even that doesnt tell the story, The mets are in a tailspin and the Nationals are playing better than the mets over the past 2 weeks. But this isnt the Zimmermanoholics ( For those of you unfamiliar to Ryan Zimmerman, He is the outstanding young 3b from the Nats, so enough chatter about the Nationals ) Well i think the people who come to this site know that they are playing miserable as of now. 6 straight series lost by the amazins or in my mind, the Heartless amazins. They are not playing with heart at all and it seems like theyre season is slowly stuck in a stagnent pace, With losses coming in bunches and wins coming at a short clip. It seems like every game, Something else goes wrong. Wheater it be by miserable hitting or pitching, They still find a way to lose and look ugly doing it. The games they lost have not even been close and its frustrating as a fan to see the team that you love so much just get slapped around like (Wait, heres a example of the way the mets have been playing) Picture 7 year olds playing dodge ball and going up against 5 all star pitchers, That is like the mets right now getting their glasses knocked off and broken and crying at home to their mommys. But these arent 7 year olds, they are grown men and i know that many players rarely care about the success of their team ( Losing teams players) and they just want the paycheck and i think its ridiculous to see a team falter so bad the past few weeks and it kills me to see the mets just continueously get hit around, pitched by crappy pitchers with good outings ( I,E Hong Kuo, Scott Baker), Mind you Kuo hit a home run and then proceeded to throw the bat to Anaheim and the mets did nothing. This team has 0 heart right now. It bothers me to see this team just not get anyone fired up, Note to Willie- Get thrown out of a game for once. Pull a stunt like the double a manager of the braves did. Just do something to restore some energy for this team and not make me lose all my hair on my head.

I cant fathom how this team has gone from being 18 games over 500 to 6 over 500 in such a quick time. I really live for baseball and i live for the team that plays in Queens and i hate when the Summers go by really slow when the mets used to be in last place and you had nothing except for dreams of a title. Now, after last season, the mets have me always focused on World Series titles and i just wish they would break out the bats for once and start hitting with runners in scoring position and just play great baseball. When teams are struggling, They need to take extra bases to try and push themselves a little harder, They need to take extra bp ( Not sit and play chess Delgado), They need to pitch smarter and most importantly, They need to communicate as a team and not worry about the standings. Just worry about your team and how to fix it.

Right now, The mets have played 6 straight series against competitive teams(Arz,Phils, Tigers, Dodgers, Yanks, Twins) and lost all those series. Then they play another tough 3 series ( Oak, Stl, Phils), This is a tough stretch, possibly the toughest stretch is Mets history but i think they need to bounce back and the only reason why im not compeltely jumping off bridges yet is because they are still in first and every other team in the division keeps on losing,But i can almost guareentee if they keep losing, They will be out of first quickly so they need to start swinging and pitching the way we are all accustmed to.

When you start looking at their problems, It starts from the hitting and goes to the pitching, relief or starting. The hitting does not get hits in timely situations and it seems like the Mets are always either crushing the ball and hitting it directly at a fielder. Everyone knows, when your struggling, everything seems to go wrong and right now, The mets are struggling mightily. They need maybe a powerhitter (No one is hitting home runs right now at a alarming pace), Maybe another reliever ( Depending on how the bullpen is going on the rate, it seems eminent that Minaya will look elsewhere), The SP seems fine to me and im praying Pedro comes back at full strength but one or two more bad starts by Sosa and Glavine and it will send the mets into panic mode and then they will look to add another SP. Now im not saying they will bench Glavine but maybe if Sosa keeps getting hit around like he did yesterday during his two start stint next week, Then they will look elsewhere for an answer to this dilemma of the struggles that they have to overcome to be successful again.

David has been playing well of late and picked up a rbi single today to go along with a walk. He has been on fire the past few weeks and will look to keep it going on Friday when the mets face off against the Mike Piazza less A’s. Man i was really looking forward to cheering for him again and then making fun of him for that miserable arm he has when Reyes got on base and could have walked to second. But without the Piazza, the A’s are still dangerous and it seems like they are poised to play the mets in the series on Friday. I just hope David and the mets can snap out of it because if not, Im going to drive my car off the Verrazano bridge and wonder what it would be like to win a championship as im doing it. Please god, grant me one wish, a world series title before i die. Thats all i have ever wanted.

The wrong way?

   Wrightoholics_2

What is going on? Am i living in a dream? The past two weeks have been horrendous for the mets and their fans losing game after game and series after series. Now i can just tell all the mets fans who read this that we all have to get used to the yankee fans asking us what happened during the stretch where the mets played the playoff teams from last season and how our favirote team got murdered in the process. I really do feel like im living a dream, A devil rays fan dream. It has been not so good for the past 2-3 weeks as every time i watch a game, They lose miserably. They have had no heart the past 2-3 weeks except for David Wright. Teams are hitting home runs and the pitcher is flipping bats but no retaliation, Pitchers are going to up the Mets hitters and talking trash to them and no fighting? What is going on yet again! Cant they start a fist fight for once? I mean it worked for the 86 mets? Why cant it work for us? They should really brawl with the Yankees this weekend by hitting Arod in his face, It would be good face time for the Mets anyways and sort of take away from their " Good Guys" image. How do you let Brad Penny go up to Shawn Green and ask him about pitch location ( Only if he was that nice with his choice of words). You have to hit someone one of these days, Get someone ejected, Do something to restore the teams positive attitude and get them to work a little harder in workouts, I dont know. All i know is that they need to do something to get the rollercoaster started again, Its like we are stuck up on the top of a ferris wheel and not moving for days.

I dont care what anyone else things but i still believe they are the best team in baseball and a lot of teams have bad strecthes and teams have good streches ( Yankees). The mets will snap out of it, I hope they do soon because the games are becoming more and more difficult to watch. My Brother called me up last night and wondered if i was still a Wrightoholic anymore, I told him yes what about you? He said no, Im a Clemensoholic. I laughed and said we will see this weekend. Right now, i am totally disgusted with this team and theyre is nothing i can do about it. Let me explain what is wrong with this team. I am never going to blame anything on injuries because that would be the Yankee fan thing to do. Lets go through the lineup. Reyes- Major slump, Easley/Valentin ( Slumps), Green (So- So, i am mad he didnt punch Penny, I know Penny is big but his teammates would have helped), Beltran ( Playing with no heart, Did anyone see him jog to the ball in center which went by him for a RBI triple?, He is not hitting well and in my mind, I might have to start the 18 million gets me this bum chants again ( Not quite that long of a chant but similar), Wright ( Only guy playing with any type of heart on this team, Without him they would score 0 runs a game and be pointless to watch on TV, Loduca ( Minor slump for Paul after getting 16 hits in 32 ab’s previous to the trip), Gomez/Ledee ( You cant expect much from # 8 hitters but Gomez needs more work in AAA).  Pitching as a whole also has been slumping, They are giving terrible 0-2 pitches right down the middle of the plate and the league has caught up on that. Glavine is way too old now in my mind and i have said in the begining of the season to just let the guy go. Sosa pitched brilliant all season and his only bump was yesterday. Dont even get me started on the bullpen. They are miserable in watching them. Scotty Schoenwiess coming out of the pen every game reminds me of when the Mets had Mike Stanton and getting crushed every time out. Aaron Heilman (I am still mad at for giving up the 3 run homer to Rollins about 2 weeks ago. Mota has been getting hit hard. Smith even got hit a small bit. The only one who has been steady has been Pedro ( I miss Pedro Martinez) Feliciano, He has been the one who can come on and get some outs when they need them.

Now the Mets with a well needed day off can relax, Play some playstation and Mlb 07, David Wrights videogame which he is a 99 overall and try to figure out what went wrong during the trip and series against playoff teams. Hopefully someone stepped up and screamed or even maybe better yet had thrown Scott Schoeinweiss off the team plane, But if that didnt happen i really hope the players had a good talk on the way home, Because i see how bad it is becoming for the Mets fans as i havent seen one person donning the Mets Blue/Orange jerseys in a week or so. The Yankee fans all have their decals back on and the 26 world series titles jackets but us fans we have to come back and just prove that even though they are in a tailspin, Its still June 14th, not October 14th and giving this lack of playing, the mets are still in first place.

David continues his hot hitting and will look to take that into Yankee stadium. Yesterday, he went 2-4 with 2 singles and a rbi. He is closing on 300 and will look to show everyone who the best third basemen in NY is tomorrow, Even though Arod has 25 homers. The David watch is sponsered by Rogaine, Something half the Yankee teams must use with their old age approaching 35-40.

Mets lose…Yet again…

    0cd12027c63a4a038a9e5b30824bd755_7

Wow, What have i missed since i have been studying my head off the past week or so. Good news is that i am passing all of the testing needed but still need to put my mind to studying. That is the reason why i am not posting as much as i would usually post. I have been watching the mets daily when i have the chance and it seems as if a lot is going on with them which needs to be changed. Their pitching has been horrible as of late, the hitting has not been in the groove ( Even though they did hit well in instances throughout the Tigers series). Since i have been not posting, The mets lost 3 in a row at home to the Phils ( Which they could have distanced themselves from the pack, getting swept against the Phils at home hurt me and made all those Philly fans abuse me through email ). Then the Mets traveled to Detroit and got slapped in the final 2 games of the series to lose to the Tigers. It was a tough series as the Tigers ripped their way through the mets pitchers like it was 2003. Speaking of 2003, It is starting to remind me of the the pitching staff and the total team from 2003. The team ( Much worse than 2007), Was a team who had some up’s and mostly down’s but right now the Mets are on a downer. They lost to the Dodgers tonight and even El Duque got hit hard tonight.  It just feels as if things are not going the mets way. Hopefully soon, they will right the ship and bring some victories this way.

I am getting really tired of watching the Yankees beat up on crappy teams as of late. Playing the bucs and beating them rather easily and then watching them play the White sox before is a joke. The white sox are terrible. The yankees are playing good as of late but they are playing against makeshift pitching ( Didnt even get to face the Pirates # 1 in my mind Ian Snell). Before that, the white sox are in a terrible tailspin such as Jose Reyes who is killing my fantasy teams right now. I wont even talk about Reyes because i think he will be okay but i need the wins right now as its a gold league with the winner getting 2000 dollars. Back to the yankees, They are playing good, Ill admit that and until they beat the Mets like they have been beating the Pirates and White Sox, then ill give them credit. Until now, they will not get any credit from me. I just am laughing seeing all of the yankee fans put back on their jerseys and put back the decals on the cars, It is funny to see that happen as you can tell where most Yankee fans went to while they sulked in agony and defeat to most of the teams in baseball ( Right off the bandwagon).

Now on to a more positive note, David Wright. David is on fire as of late, Yes i have been watching and just seeing him slap baseball’s to all over the field. It reminds me of the Retro David Wright, Well the Mlb 07 virtual reality David Wright who yes hit 3 home runs for me in a game yesterday vs the Nationals ( Yes, its a game i understand, but hes the cover guy and the last cover guy we had was Mike Piazza on the cover of backyard baseball 03). David is on a remarkable strech as of late and will continue that for the rest of the season. His homer streak ended tonight ( 1 game short of the mets record) but will look to continue it tomorrow against the dodgers. I know the David talk has been dying since Arod has been ripping it up with some 24 home runs on the other side of town but David is on fire and his average is creeping up and is having a remarkable run. Wright homered in each game of the Tigers series and also did so in the series finale Thursday against the Phillies. Sunday’s homer also helped extend his hitting streak to 12 games. He is 16-for-48 (.333) with four homers and eight RBI during that stretch. If only everyone else in the lineup can produce what David is doing then the Mets would be in good shape.

The David watch is sponsered by Mlb, which produces Nl Player of the week awards, Which will go to David this past week.
