Mets win..Yes they won...

Today was a great day for the Mets and their fan's. I was one of the fans in attendence and i loved watching the mets rally back with their backs against the wall and hammer out 7 runs in the bottom of the 8th inning which basically secured their run. First before i get into all of the baseball talk, I wanted to say in confidence that David's at bat song';s are brutal. The first one, me and you by cassie i think it is is the worst song for him. His other at bat song's are pretty good, I love the Second Coming by Juelez. Also, Player by big pun is not too too bad but Me and you by cassie is terrible for him. I know the fans voted for it but it must be those 14 yr old obsessed fan's who are going to dance if they ever reach the stadium. Or maybe it is the 15 yr old people who email me about David and ask if he wears boxers or briefs. But he should have used Big Pimpin or something better. Reyes song's are amazing as usual as he has added Walk it out which is a great at bat song especially since Reyes has balooned his OBP this short season so far. Delgado stole Reyes Rompe ( He used it last season some) but it fits him. Shawn Green has some great walk up music as well. Just some random observations about today;s walk up song's.

Opening day is great. The spectacle that everyone has a fresh chance but nothing changed in this or past season with the mets. You can tell by the mets team today that they are like last years squad with their drive and determination to make themselves and the fans believe that this year might be better than last seasons heartbreak we all endured during the postseason. Being down by 2 ( Which in my mind shouldnt have been that bad) Because they could have brought in Feliciano and finished off Howard instead of leaving in Burgos (In my mind , a guy who throws 98 mph fastballs down the middle switches it up and pitches a splitter right down the pipe to a guy who hit 58 home run's last season is not a smart idea). But i guess since Heilman was overused yesterday, He had to do it. So the mets were down 5-4 going into that eventful bottom of the 8th inning. The mets pounded away at the Phillies and Jimmy ( WE ARE THE BEST TEAM IN THE NL EAST) Rollins. Poor Jimminy Cricket. It looks like you should keep your eye on the ball next time you try and make a play in the hole. But Jimmy, i know you guys say you are the best team in the NL east but judging my your start this season, It doesnt seem like that. A 1-6 team who will most certainly lose 1 of the next 2 games and hopefully both to put them in a early hole. Rollins got chanted almost out the stadium today and it was good times all around Shea this afternoon while the Mets slapped the Phils around in the 8th inning on.

Now onto David, David was pretty weak at the plate during his first 3 appearences. The 4th he ripped a shot to right field and everyone in the stadium thought he was have a game tying hit but it wasnt meant to be. In his final at bat, He crushed a line drive down the left field line and almost for a grand slam. (Thanks to Shea's dimensions, I almost had a 13 point Grand slam in my fantasy league). David picked up the double and gave the mets a bigger cushion and then Alou followed with a single which plated Delgado , Wright.

A few random observations from the loge level in Shea. When David come up a few times later on before his big hit, I heard a few scattered boo;s throughout the crowd, Surpisingly he came through and shut up those bandwagoning mets fans in the crowd. Another thing which bothered me was people who come to the game just to yell at Pat Burrell in Left Field. I mean this one guy who must have had 17 beers kept on cursing at Burrell and some little kids were next to him and i felt bad. I mean enough is enough. Even myself i have a nice side and i wouldnt want to subject my children to anything like that even if after every phillie was announced today, I yelled ***** after their name.

     Wrightoholics keys to victory today.

# 1- David Wright doubling down the line and plating two. His frustrations kept building after each at bat and it was nice to see him finally get off the snide.

# 2- Delgado (VIVA LA PUERTO RICO)- Really should be # 1 on the list but since this isnt Delgadoholics, We had to give him number 2. He went 3-3 and had a huge game.

# 3- Jose Reyes. He is a terror on the basepaths and his energy brings the mets to another level.

# 4- John Maine- Tough luck only gave him 4 and 2 3'rds innings but he will be okay throughout the season.

# 5- Beltran playing well again.

# 6-Julio Franco. 4 pitches. 1 walk. 1 Run.

# 7- Mets bullpen (Minus Burgos who made 1 bad mistake to a guy who hit 58 homers)

# 8- Phillies Bullpen, Thank you.

# 9- Jimmeny Cricket- Thanks for that error.

  Wrightoholics Blunders of the day.

# 1- Burgos grooving a splitter to a guy who eats them like donuts and then deposits them into the right field fence.

# 2- Willie making a few bad managerial moves throughout the game. i.e, Not taking out Burgos, Pinch hitting easley instead of Milledge. I guess they arent bad moves but in light of today's games, I needed something to talk about.

Ahh yes...I see you have achieved victory in the first week match-up! Congrats! cmn

Glad to see such an avid fan get as excited about Mets baseball as I do about the Braves. I was commenting to let you know about my Braves blog and invite you into some friendly rivalry conversation as the season progresses. I appreciate your love for your team and I think it would be cool to open up some blogging from different points of view. I was at my team's respective Opening Day on Friday against your Mets. It wasn't a a good game for us but I just love being at the ball park to support my Bravos. I welcome your comments and so conversation. It might be fun.
