(Yes David, You laugh at how bad Delgado has been)
My blog entry since the David needs a fire extuinsher since hes on fire lately has been updated to call the fire truck, We need the fire hose to cool him off. Im also talking about his defense in yesterdays 5-2 victory over the LA Dodgers, in which his defense almost outmeasured his rocket shot to RF. He made 2 outstanding plays in between another out in the same inning! You know whats funny, He actually had a vitamin water in his pocket while the other out was made and refueled like in that commericial where vitamin water makes you do outlandish things. So i guess thats what made him make those 2 remarkable plays in the field. But not to stand alone with his defense, He brought along his bat to the show too! He smacked a line drive to right field which went out for his 23rd home run. Davids offense reminds me of something, The 2006 David Wright. Remember him? You know the guy who only hit 26 homers and drove in 116 rbi's? Oh yeah, I know him and hes back and better than ever. Except i predict this season he will propel the mets further in the playoffs and not disappear like he did last season in the biggest stage in sports. He is back and his 314 average shows that. Remember at the all star break he was hitting around 300? Well not he is above and will get to eclipse his 316 average last season and in my prediction will win the batting title. Just you wait and see. Mark my words, Theyre always Wright.
Mets beat the dodgers behind the arm of Oliver Perez yesterday and Wagner almost blew another one by allowing the bases to be loaded only to work out of it. The Mets need to win today against 97 year old Eric Stults. The Mets bats need to keep on hitting because they are still in first and cannot afford to relax and lose a few games in a row. I am more afraid of the Phils than the Bravos because of the way the Phils can have the SP along with the hitting. But as we move towards September, The Mets have the lead like they have almost all season long and will have another board hanging in right field along with last years nl east title.
Now even though the Mets lost the series against the Padres, a very disappointing one, They will look to win the series tonight with 1 game left to spare. I wont get into the Padres series as it will just provide more tears for me. So lets talk about todays game. Mets will win 97-0 behind David's 18 home runs.
First off, Let me say as i have a counter to read how many people visit my site daily, I want to thank my loyal fans for coming and checking and sending me "Where the **** are you" Emails. I have been going to millions of baseball, soccer, football games over the past weeks including the Beckham game last night. So i just want to thank those of you who give me support and email me just to check up on everything. To those who visit and dont email, Screw you all.
The Beckham game with the Red Bulls and Galaxy was amazing last night. I really do enjoy the game of soccer but yesterday took it to another level, Just seeing all of the crazy fans who flew from London to watch this guy in every city is beyond me. I heard people behind me talking about how they fly to every city that Becks plays in. The chants are great as i got in on a bunch of them during the game yesterday, I even started my own JOSE JOSE JOSE CHANT, Although i think the meaning wa supposed to be Ole instead of Jose but see with me, I bring the Mets wherever i go so what if people think im chanting Jose, Its the thought that counts in the end. But the game was one of the best games i have been to just to see the atmosphere, It reminded me of Piazza's return to Shea last year in the way that every time he touched the ball, He was greeted by cheers everywhere. Beckham is internationally known and will push back life into soccer. I used to hate soccer growing up but now i am thinking about getting season tickets to the Red Bulls after being at yesterdays amazing game. The game was back and forth and for those of you living under a rock, the Red Bulls pulled out an amazing 5-4 victory over the Galaxy. Beckham had 2 assists in the first 10 minutes along with almost a fight with one of the red bull players. My favirote soccer player, Juan Angel Pablo scored twice and Jozy Altidore( who is 17 years old mind you) put in another 2 goals.
I also have been to both Jets Preseason games as i am a season ticket holder for the past few seasons and will continue to be a season ticket holder for the rest of my life. I just want to say being at Jets games is amazing no matter what theyre record is and who they play. I love the atmosphere and just the chant is amazing. Even though David told me he loves the Giants, I still will be the owner of the Wrightoholics regardless of what his affiliation with football is. Also, So what if David says that Chad Pennington has a noodle arm, Last time i checked, Davids QB for the giants stinks even worse. Lets get back to my talking about football. My seats are 12 rows off the field and i love the action of the game. I think the Jets will be good this year and Thomas Jones will bring a big boost to this team. He will improve Chad's passing game and push the Jets to the playoffs for the a 2ncd straight year. I will now talk about baseball as the preseason is boring but still fun to be at the games.
How hot has David Wright been lately? Every since my last post, He is batting 455. Over the past month in my estimate, He is batting over 400. He is simply enfuego and for my spanish readers, DAVID WRIGHT ESTA ARDIENDO RECIENTEMENTE. EL ES EL HOMBRE DESPRECIABLE MEJOR TERCER EN NUEVA YORK. TODAS LAS DAMAS LO ADORAN TANTO HACE COMO yo PERO IM no ALEGRE EN UNA CLASE de AROD DE la MANERA. DAVID ES TAN EN FUEGO, CUANDO EL ANDA, EL se QUEMA ALGO EL TOCA. ASI QUE DAMAS ALEJAN POR FAVOR DE EL. Someone can translate that please. But now back to my English readers, David is simply on fire and he is batting now 313, Well above his batting average since my last posting. I will get back into posting again but i was just so busy with going to Jets games, Soccer games and Mets games. I have a ton of pictures i am going to upload regarding everything i have been out. Im so gamed out right now from everything i have done lately.
The Mets swept the Nats out of their own park this weekend and have a very tough stretch coming up over the next 2 weeks or so. Games vs the Dodgers, Padres, Phillies, Braves are coming up and will prove the mets mettle against some of the best teams in the NL. I expect them to come out strong and beat all of those teams and just show that even with all of these injuries, They are the best team in the NL without a doubt. Speaking of injuries, The mets have a ton. I dont want to hear any yankee fan complain about any injury that happens to them because the Mets have tons. My email has been cluttered with ****** comparing the Mets rash of injurys to the Yankees. How can that be? The Mets have so many injuries right now? Have you ever been without your number 1 starting catcher, number 2 starting catcher, All 3 Starting outfielders? three fourths of your starting pitching? Relievers? Even our manager missed time this season. JEEZ, Thats a rash of injuries, Not to mention most of the bench has been injured some point this season.
But as we move on to the final month of the season, The Mets are in position to win their second straight NL East title and hopefully can do what the Red Sox did in 2004 after losing in game 7 in 2003, And that is Win the World Series title this season and provide us mets fans with the ending of our long suffering and years of watching the Yankee fans celebrate while we were in the basement of the standings of the NL East.
I predict right here that David will bat 980 for the rest of the season and win the NL MVP. He will also eclispe Barry Bonds record home run season total of 73 by the end of the season. Maybe in a dream you ask? No its going to happen, Just you watch. Hes not a man, Hes a machine. SOMEONE FEED HIM MORE OIL.
Besides, David Wright is going to demolish that record that Barry Bonds just set minutes ago. I predict here on this day, August 8th,2007 that David Wright will hit 1983 home runs for his career which will span 80 seasons. Mark my words down and come visit me and dont say that i didnt tell you so in 2084 when he has 1983 home runs and is the greatest baseball player to ever live in the universe.
Mets are going for number 300 right now and i am pumped watching the game. Speaking of pumped, How is Barry Bonds 755 homer last night? He is pumped up heading into tomorrow and it looks like he will break the record vs the lowly Nats. I really dont care about Barry breaking the record and it doesnt matter to me anymore as it used to. He broke the rules even though he was never convicted of steroid use, The allegation is there and everyone comes out and says he is on the juice. I dont have a comment but you can see from the above picture that he clearly is on the juice. Back to a better record, 300 wins and Tom Glavine. Tom, Who is clearly happier to be pitching for the Mets at this point in his career is looking to notch 300 in a mets uniform ( No other met in its history has won 300 while wearing a Mets uniform) and push the mets towards yet another NL east title. I really am not accepting last seasons finish with the loss in game 7 and thats all i will say about that. I also hope Pedro comes back healthy to finish off the season and pitch well enough for the Mets to make it 2 steps further than last season and that was the World series victory.
As for Glavine, He will look towards that magic number of 300 and be the 23rd player in major league baseball to accomplish that feat. Glavine would make me extremely happy to see a good guy in the game get a nice accomplishment. If you look at Glavines track record after such a long career, He has never did anything negative off the field such as so many other players in baseball have done to ruin their reputations.
Congrats to Barry, Alex for their feats. I just can only hope ARod has enough hair coloring loreal paris conditioner to get him through the next 8 years and maybe we can look at the record being in his hands as id rather it be Arod than Barroid Bonds.
Well Shawn Green isnt a reserve but should be in my mind after that horrible flop in Right field, How do you dive for the ball that clearly has no chance of being caught, Its mind boggling in my mind how Shawn has become such a defensive liability. Now granted he did make a great play on Tuesday But come on, How much is that going to save this miserable defense. Right field is supposed to be your power thrower, I.e Jeff Francouer or Vlad Guerrero. But we have Shawn Green there when they could and should upgrade in the offseason to a better hitter and fielder. I like Green, I dont mind his hitting some times but he is best served for a first basemens role or a DH role. The other real reserves, Castro and Marlon Anderson hit monster shots last night and pushed the Mets to a 8-5 victory over the Brew Crew out in Milwaukee. Castro i love, I think he is an amazing player this season and rightfully should be starting over Loduca until Loduca gets back to 100 percent because right now he is banged up and needs some long rest. Marlon Anderson is simply a reserve on this team. He is a decent bat off the bench, A much needed one over the likes of David Newhan and the former Julio Franco.
The Mets bats were out last night and hopefully they can continue that today with a nice day game vs Milwaukee. The Mets will look behind the pitching of Brian Lawrence today? Brian Lawrence, wasnt he the guy who won 15 games years back? Well anyhow he is trying to bring the mets to 2 straight victories and more importantly keep the pace over the Bravos in the Nl East.
David Wright walked yet another 2 times as the pitchers on Milwaukee looked so scared of him yesterday. **** i would be too if i was facing him on a 3 night basis. Today David, Who loves Day games and long walks on the beach at night will look to add to his impressive season and look to show why he is the best third basemen in baseball.
On a side note before i sign off, The single A afflilate of the Mets, The Savannah Sand Gnats are hosting, Lindsay Lohan Drunk Driving Awareness Night. Pretty clever in my mind. a few other approriate dates i would make would be, A) Michael Vick hanging night, B) Alex Rodriguez hair coloring kit night, C) Chad Pennington Hair night. D) Eric Mangini Man-genious night, Where Einstein will be in attendance, Reincarnated to hand over the throne to Mr Mangini. E) Jose Lima Hot Dog night, reffering to one of my old posts as him as a hot dog vendor. F) Jose Lima hot dog vendor Bobblehead night. G)Julio Franco Rogaine night. H) Ramon Castro size 99 pants night. I) David Wright Mvp Night.
I know this is a baseball blog but first i must talk about the whole Michael Vick thing with the dogs and all. Now me being a dog lover as i have two Jack Russell terriers of my own can show some sympathy with the picketters outside of the courthouse and outside of the Falcons camp. In my mind for what Michael Vick has done, He should not be put in jail and be allowed to play football but for every interception that he throws, He should be either electrocuted or his face slammed into the ground just like he did to those poor dogs who he killed due to lack of winning in dog fights. Michael Vick is pure garbage and trash and should never be allowed to play football. He is a utter disgrace to society and it just shows how sick a person can really be. He truly should be electrocuted for every INT he makes throughout his career just to show the pain those dogs went through.
Now back to baseball, The Mets made a move before the deadline hit, That is acquiring Luis Castillo from the Twins for 2 minor leaguers. I like Castillo at second as i feel they were staring to get to Gotays spots and exploit his weaknesses. So this Castillo move was great in my mind and hopefully he can finally be the number 2 hitter that the Mets envisioned the whole season. Castillo who was a great player on the Marlins and had a great hitting streak in the past will look to get back to his greatness with the Mets.
On other trade moves, the Braves made the biggest splash picking up Mark Teixeria from the Rangers for 4 players. Texieria, Will make the braves instantly a better team and make that lineup much more dangerous than it already is. Texieria will provide more stability and allow Andruw Jones to hit in better spots and also just once again try and push the Braves past the Mets. The Braves also made another move make their bullpen stronger in the process by picking up former met Octavio Dotel. Dotel was one of the most coveted acquisitions at the Trade deadline. Although these moves were strong, They still will not overtake the Mets as i think the Mets have a stronger lineup and a stronger Rotation, A rotation in which will become even stronger with the return of Pedro Martinez, The mets ace in the hole. Pedro, Who i dont think will come back like the Pedro of old is coming back off a rebuilt shoulder and even if he is older it looks like a shred of Pedro will be better than none at all.
Tom Glavine took a 2-1 lead into the 7th inning. The mets bullpen blew it. Yes they blew it. I was actually in my house in Pennsylvania listening to the game and i figured that they would blow it somehow and it took the incompetance of Willie Randolph yanking pitcher after pitcher for better matchups by the book. Sometimes, You cant go by the book. Heilman should have stayed in and i dont want to see Mota again . Mota came in with 1st and second and grooved a change up to Bill Hall. Any hitter seeing a pitcher they have never seen before and coming up is looking for a fastball and all that change up did was just feel like a 80 mph fastball coming down the plate to Hall and he was waiting on it with his bat being sped up and crushed that pitch to left field and thus crushed Glavine, His entourage of family members dreams of getting to 300 in Milwaukee. Glavine after the game admitted he was gased due to the adrenaline he had while pitching for 300. David Wright after the game said that he feels Glav earn his spot at 300 on Sunday night in front of his family and a world wide audience. Glavine is going for 300 against a Cub team who is on fire, They need to move on the cubs early and Glavine needs to pitch like he did against the Brewers yesterday.
The Mets bullpen worries me immensely. I feel as if they keep blowing games late, They will be out of first place and maybe out of the playoffs all together. The Mets need to start closing games out and holding leads for Wagner because my heart cant handle all these leads getting squandered. Mota should be pumped full of Hgh and have his head explode. I cant stand watching a guy in Mets uniform who used to be on steroids, I feel like im watching the Yankees with Giambi and Sheffield of last season. Also seeing the Yankees winning lately has gotten all those decals back on the cars and all the jerseys back on the backs of the fans and least importantly, The Yankee trash talk about championships.
David Wright has been on fire as of late and is looking to add to his impressive season stats against the Brew Crew tonight. He had 2 hits yesterday with a Rbi and a stolen base. He has truly been enfuego and looking at his past numbers for the previous games in July just shows hes amazing . David is 7-11 in his last three games and will most likely push his average back over 305 like his career numbers suggest.
