MVP, MVP!!!
Hello to all Wrightoholics out there, I know its been quite a while since my last post and i apologize for that. I will promise to start posting again as i know the season is coming to a close. Since the past post, The Mets bullpen took a hiatus and they have been blowing leads like it was the Mike Stanton, Armando Benitez days. Hopefully they can get this corrected in the next week and pitch lights out come playoff time because we all know once playoff time comes, Regardless of the regular season record, Is meaningless. Every team starts off 0-0 and the winner has to win 11 games total to win the Championship. The Mets can hopefully get to that number in the playoffs which hopefully David can break out of his last playoff spell which pitted him batting under 230 which is very un David like. I will start off with David Wright first.
Seems like someone deserves some hardware this season. Look at the guys number post april! Are you kidding me? Almost batting 330, 30 homers, 36 steals, 105 rbis and not to mention most importantly helping the mets get to this hopeful second straight NL East title. THe mets have had a rash of injuries this season and look who has been there every game hitting day in and day out, David Wright. Yes, Jose Reyes played every game but his level of play has deterioated from game 82 this season on. David was the one when the mets had injuries all season long to every player on the team except for David Wright and Reyes. Beltran,Delgado,Green,Milledge,Alou,Chavez,Loduca,Castro,Gotay, Castillo, Valentin, Gomez and not to mention a rash of injuries to the Starters and relievers. I dont want to hear anyone tell me about injuries because the mets have had only 2 players play in almost every game this season. So many key parts have been out along the way and the only glue that held this team together was David Wright and some clutch pitching performances. Now im not saying anything about the pitching staff but look how David Wright impacts games on a daily basis (Other than his sometimes erratic fielding), He hits to all fields and 70 percent of the time makes a productive out either moving the runner off, moving him in on a sac fly or just taking pitches to allow Reyes to steal a base. On defense, he knows what base to throw to at all times and even though he makes errors, Hes 24 years old and will only get better defensively as time goes on. When the mets need a big hit (Like yesterday), David is mostly there. Hopefully he can progress enough this postseason to forget about last seasons dreadful October. He deserves the MVP award since his team has had so many injuries and he was there to back this team up not only as a player on the field but a leader off of it and you cant say that about most players in this league. He sticks up for his team when they are down, Keeps them lose in the dugout and most importantly wills them to win. I know a few other NL Players have had tremendously good years but you look at it this way. Prince Fielder (Does he deserve MVP?) Absolutely, Will he get it? No, unless the Brew crew pulls off a miraculous finish to stun the Cubs. Jimmy Rollins (Does he deserve it? ) Yes, but once again unless the Phils make it, He wont get it, Not to mention the other players on the Phils who will take votes away from Rollins. Matt Holliday (Does he deserve it?) Absolutely. His numbers are beyond ridiculous this season and he deserves some votes due to the pitching he faces on a daily basis in the NL West and the way he pulled this team from nothing last season to almost making the playoffs. If the Rocks make the playoffs, Holliday will win the MVP Award based on his stats. Pujols ? No, Cards are done. So basically there you have it. I know David deserves to win this MVP. He works hard on the field and rarely misses any action and 99 percent of the time has a impact on the outcome wheather it be Defense or Offense. Give the guy his **** due and give us Mets fans our due and finally give the Mets a MVP FOR ONCE! We deserve it. Our pitching rich franchise needs a MVP before we leave SHEA. PLEASE VOTERS, GIVE THE MVP TO DAVID WRIGHT SO I CAN ALSO WIN MY PROP BET! Oh did i say that out loud? Well i dont bet nor i do condone gambling, Unless you put 20,000 on the Mets to win the world series and split the winnings with me.
Now onto the past 3 weeks at hand. The Mets bullpen was really getting to me over the past few weeks. I shaved my head to try and reverse this horrid ways but nothing can do it. I even spoke to my bobblehead guys and they all convinced me that the Mets would break out of it and not to worry about driving my car off a bridge if they blew this lead. I know it has only been a few weeks sicne the bullpen and SP's have faltered but you have to realize something. Willie Overuses this bullpen. I know he has no other options but sometimes you need to go with worst case scenario (I.E Schoenwiess) to get the job done. You ever hear the expression, You cant beat a dead horse or something like that? Well Willie is doing that exactly by going back to the same reliever day in and day out regardless of their performance the night before. They need rest and i know each game is big for the mets but yesterday was a key example of why you need to shake things up once in a while. If you cant get a out from Feliciano, Go to Joe Smith. Cant get a out from him? Go to Schoweinweiss, (Maybe one year ill spell his name right). Cant get a out from him? Set up a Jugs ball throwing machine out side the picnic area and sign the kids up right away.If you really need to know why the Mets are up 2 and a half games, Just look no further. They are a good team and can withstand the adversity that comes with being the division leader for almost the whole season. I have faith in them that they will make it far in the playoffs. Even though 40 percent of Mets fans are bandwagoners, I still understand and hope that most of them will stay with this team through the thick and the thin. I found something quite funny and disturbing at the same time. I know a person who constantly buys decals off of ebay and then takes them off his car every time the Mets go in a downward spiral and puts them on when they win. I ask him why and his response? They stink sometimes and i cant take the abuse. I laugh and say when you were younger, Did you own a sled ? He says no. I said what about a bandwagon you *****? He said no. I told him to get his 26 time world champion yankee jacket out of the closet and massage it because on this side of town, We dont accept bandwagoner fans. So that goes for all of you fans out there, If your a real Mets fan, Show it through everything. I wear my Mets jerseys in The winter without and sweatshirt underneath. Now if thats a smart thing to do? Based on Hypothermia. I dont think so. But i do it anyway because i live and die with this team and just once before i go, I need to feel what its like to win a title and im going to be at whatever stadium that its happening at. Please mets grant me that one wish.
Now onto to what my predictions are this week. Mets will go 5-2 and win the division by 3-4 games. Phils face two tough pitchers this week in Hudson and Smoltz so they will most likely lose that series. Another prediction is that David Wright will win the MVP and when that happens, I will be partying with my money i won ( I mean i dont gamble, GAMBLING IS BAD) Remember that. To all the young readers who come here, I am sorry for that. But i hope he wins the MVP this season. He deserves it for everything he does on and off the field. To see what he does off the field. Please go to www.davidwrightfoundation.com . You can also buy tickets to the upcoming gala which will be held in November this year. I hopefully will be attending if i dont have anything going on.

Alex,
I am laughing at your comment. The Braves are dead and gone. You have fun golfing over the winter with Brian McCann and Mark Teixera. Your team had a very productive third place finish. It reminds me of the 1997 mets. Good luck being second or third fiddle in the NL East.

wait wait... let me guess the MVP is CHIPPER JONES! is that right?!?!? because Larry has numbers that compare to DWright this year... or maybe its MARK TEXIERA!!!! because he has carried your team to a post season birth after your franchise gave up a player of the future for him... NO NO WAIT ANDRUW JONES!!!!!!!!!! Any player with a 220 batting average deserves the title of MVP... Its ok to be jealous, its alright to want DWright, while your team hangs out in the cellar in the company of the Marlins and Nationals, DWright will be winning MVP's and World Titles in years to come!

John is an intelligent person, but jjg385@aol.com, your an idiot. I never said who I felt is the M.V.P, you are the one doing that.
(by the way, in saying Wright *****, I was using a bit of trash talk in fun. Hopefully that is what you were doing because your comment was absolutely idiotic and I won't give you the previlage of addressing it)
John, you are right, the Braves are dead but not gone.
Don't be so sure that the mets won't be joining them.

Alex,
I hate to agree with you now, The Mets are dead and gone along with the Braves so apparently, I will be joining you with my new set of golf clubs. I never thought this would happen but ah, biggest collapse ever hurts and all i have to do is wait 6 months and hope the scars can heal.
Hopefully the Braves can take Glavine back next season and we can beat some sense into him for todays horrible affair.
Thanks for coming here and thanks for taking the time for some trash talk, Its always appreciated.
